I got into an accident when I was younger, which in turn caused a lot of my mouth to be infected and my teeth have to be pulled, which left me with a big giant gap in the front of my face. I couldn’t really find a doctor that would help me out and I came here actually just to do some work for the practice. I got to talking to Dr. Johnson and he said come in we’ll look at it and a year and a half later, no holes.

There was a lot of pain, discomfort every day. I mean I had to walk around with missing teeth in my head and you know just the look of it wasn’t very fun but also there was pain you know and after this it was gone. So in my case the damage was pretty severe so I had to come back quite a few times.

You know I had to come and I had to get the studs for the implants, some partials on and then everything had to heal and do the bone graft. It took a while to heal. Came back, got the crowns on, did another implant.

So all in all three implants and 16 crowns and the process was probably three or four trips back and forth. Not too bad. I feel great.

Yeah, I wouldn’t change a thing. I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else. This is the dentist that I’m going to keep.

I was born with a calcium deficiency. We knew from the time I was like 13 to 14 years old, my teeth were not in good shape and it was a constant battle. And finally we got to the point to where it was time to either go with dentures or go with the shot both sides.

Came here, got the best explanation of what was going to, what I had to look forward to with dentures, what I had to look forward to with implants, the ups and downs, the costs associated, all of those things and put all those in where the pitfalls fell on everything. And implants seemed to be the most permanent solution. So implants became the most permanent solution, even though it was quite a bit more expensive than the other route.

It’s also kind of a maintenance free thing. Once you get through that initial two months, then you know, it’s just, I’ve got better teeth than I’ve ever had. They gave me three options.

The options were dentures, which are just the pop ins. Then there’s the dentures on studs, which is a fabulous option. Then there is the full implant.

And I found that to be the better option. But there’s three options that fit any budget really, because at the lower level, it’s the dentures. Men take them out, use the adhesive.

For the most part, it’s just like having regular teeth. I mean, it really is. They chew the same.

You can even, and I know you can’t, but it’s almost like you can feel them. Because they’re into the jaw, so you feel up through the taps and all of that. So it’s an amazing thing.

It’s a miracle really.

This bridge up here had to be replaced three times, this bridge over here twice, this bridge down here twice. Before I came here both bridges came out. I needed two root canals that were never addressed.

Came here, Dr. Johnson recommended me to a wonderful doctor to do the root canal and that was in and out in one day instead of months and months of visits and came back here and Dr. Johnson started all the restorative work which meant impressions, just working on my mouth top and bottom and I can’t be happier. Well of course trouble eating because there was no bridge work here. I had just a few about maybe six teeth in the front, the rest were missing in the back.

Pain because the root canals that were never addressed. Um, the bottom at that point there were no teeth to connect with the top teeth so that was difficult and I just knew I had to do something. I couldn’t live like I was anymore.

Oh of course, sure dentures which I didn’t want. Um, then I could have had a whole mouth replacement where all the teeth are taken out and then those um implants are put in. I didn’t want that.

I and then he explained to me what he did for my mouth now and this is exactly what was perfect for me. So I kept a majority of my teeth, had two implants, um this bridge needed to be replaced and this one but with the implants I didn’t have to have a full bridge up here.

We were about the same age, so we hit it off nicely and became friends throughout all the years. And I would say close to a perfectionist. She did my smile over several times to continue to get it right and get samples and send it to the lab and get it back and then look at it and adjust it and so forth.

So she spent a lot of time on very small details to make sure everything was correct and the way it should be and the way she wanted it to be. So perfectionist is probably a pretty decent word to use for her.

I did have anxiety in the past, but now I don’t anymore at this practice because whenever you come in, everyone’s just smiling at you, making you feel super welcome, and as soon as you sit in the chair, they give you a pillow, they offer you a blanket, they offer you headphones so you don’t have to hear any of the noises or anything. Again, Dr. Johnson just walks you through everything that’s about to happen so you know what to expect.

If you’re a new patient looking for a new practice, my recommendation to you would be definitely call the office, call Victoria, set up an appointment. You know, definitely see Dr. Johnson and his team. They can kind of get you in and out quickly.

They have some of the most high-tech, you know, technology that I’m aware of in the dental practice, at least that I’m aware of in Charleston, which is really wonderful because they, you know, kind of do new age imaging and you’re in and out quickly versus your old school way of doing things. So I would definitely recommend just calling Victoria, setting up an appointment, and she can handle it from there.

Very kind people. It’s a caring practice, and they always make time for you. They make you feel like you’re part of the family here.

They’re not a churn and burns, the personal touch. You know, they immediately catch your name and use it back. That’s something, and I’m in sales, and that’s something that’s very important.

We need getting someone’s name and getting it right. You know, customer experience all day.

Dr. Johnson listens to you and your concerns. He works with you. You’re not a patient.

You’re more like family. Just makes me happy to come here.

I first came here to get a consult on reconstructive surgery, or not the surgery, but the whole dental smile. And that’s all I had in the, actually, Charleston Magazine that brought me in, and Dr. Gregory just did a wonderful job. And actually, the process was several years in the making to just not only redo the teeth and the porcelain, but also just to correct my smile, and not just smile, my whole jaw.

I’d had some teeth removed many, many years ago, so, you know, the whole frame of my jaw had moved some, so I had to correct that and got it fixed and love it.

I came here in the first place just looking for just to establish care somewhere. I started with the hygienist Shae and she was amazing and then after that we did find a few cavities um that were pretty deep so Dr. Johnson he got those knocked out within 20 minutes. The first experience was amazing.

Jennifer and Victoria welcomed me in. They took my x-rays and they went ahead and did a full treatment plan for me and Shae cleaned my teeth and it was amazing.
