Call Smile Carolina Dental Group today at 843-438-6438 to schedule a consultation. We know that living with teeth you’re unhappy with can be challenging. We’ll help you feel proud of your smile again!
A lot of people come to us that want a new smile. We’ll take a look and they’ll show us pictures. We’ll ask them, hey, can you show us a picture of your smile or what you want to look like? They have no problem showing us what they want to look like, but when they start scrolling through their phone, every picture they find of themselves, they’re smiling with their mouth closed.
Everybody’s the same. We take a look and we take a scan and we use that scan to create an ideal smile for that specific person. Not every single one’s made the same.
They’re all different. We come up with a custom-made plan that’s going to fit the function and the form of their face to look the best. We use veneers to change the surface, the shape, the size, the angles.
There’s a lot of things we can do with veneers by just very minimally prepping the teeth to create a whole new smile.
Love Your New Smile With Veneers
Porcelain veneers can last up to 20 years.

Teeth veneers are a versatile solution for many smile concerns. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and examine your teeth to determine the best approach for you. We’re proud to offer minimal prep veneers, which require little to no removal of your natural tooth structure. These ultra-thin veneers are made from either porcelain or e.max lithium disilicate, both of which are strong, durable materials that closely mimic the look of natural teeth. For more serious smile flaws, we may recommend traditional porcelain veneers.
Your veneers process typically involves:
Initial consultation and smile design
Preparing your teeth (if needed)
Taking digital impressions for custom fabrication
Placing temporary veneers (if required)
Fitting and bonding your new veneers
Veneers can address a wide range of cosmetic issues including discoloration, chipped or worn teeth, slight misalignment, uneven or irregularly shaped teeth, and small gaps between teeth.
Investing in your smile is a big decision. That’s why we will take the time to answer all your questions and ensure you feel confident about your choice.
Most patients find the veneers process comfortable and straightforward. After placement, you’ll care for your veneers much like your natural teeth – with regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups. Regular cleanings at our office will keep them looking beautiful, and your dentist will check the condition of your veneers during every exam. With proper care, your new veneers can provide you with a beautiful, natural-looking smile for many years.

My husband SWEARS by this dental office. He does his normal maintenance here as well as major dental work (implants and a crown). He loves coming here so much. When one of my crowns broke, he called this office the next morning as soon as they opened and Jennifer helped us. She was able to squeeze me in THAT day! I was able to get a temp crown. I went back a week later for my permanent crown. First, Jennifer is like the sweetest person on the planet. She was so easy to work with. Dr Johnson was great to work with as well. I’m not the easiest dental patient but he was very good with me and had a lot of patience. My hygienist was really sweet as well (I don’t know her name). I normally see a dentist in Summerville, but I am so happy I came her for my crown. It was a very pleasant experience. The office is clean, great work on my crown, and super friendly and accommodating staff.
My Dentist for over 30 years in Columbia, SC recently retired, Dr.Joel Johnson. After some soul searching and learning of his son practicing in Charleston, I decided to make the drive to meet Dr. Jeffrey Johnson! Not surprising to see the “spitting” image of Dr. Joel in Jeffrey….from his looks, to his mannerisms and, ultimately, his truly professional approach to dental care! But, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the front desk greeting (outstanding) by Jennifer, the “painless” cleaning by Shae (which I sincerely appreciated) and Victoria’s workup of a treatment plan going forward. The “icing on the cake”….the location adjacent to Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant is mesmerizing since I am addicted to water and, great places to eat after getting out of the “chair”! While the practice is not directly on Shem Creek, it is a stone’s throw away. I plan to travel by boat on upcoming visits, weather permitting!
Let’s talk about transforming moments! Ever wondered how much impact a smile can have on confidence and overall happiness? I recently had an awe-inspiring experience with veneers. Dr. Gregory, you are a true artist! My smile makeover journey was nothing short of magical. The team at Smile Carolina Dental group make you feel at ease from start to finish! Highly recommend them for your smile makeover journey! I love my new smile!
Always a positive experience. Such a caring staff and Dr. Johnson is amazing. I’ve never experienced a second of pain. So happy with how pretty my smile is now. I actually don’t mind going to the dentist anymore!!
I cannot explain how unbelievably grateful I am for being introduced to this dental practice. Dr Virginia is amazing! The attention to detail produces the best crowns I’ve ever seen. She is meticulous and a true master at what she does. As someone who has a lot of dental problems stemming from grinding my teeth, my bite, everything, trust me when I tell you they are the best in the Lowcountry. State of the art technology, amazing staff, amazing dentists. If I could I’d give them 10 stars. And the entire process for a new smile is painless and fast! Always a plus. I highly recommend scheduling a consult today if you want the best in the business. And did I mention that for cosmetic dentistry that my insurance didn’t cover, my previous dentist said it’s usually thousands more than what smoke Carolina charged.
Today I went to Smile Carolina for the first time. I definitely made the right choice when I went into the office. The staff was very informative, relaxed and friendly. I learned about different treatments that I could have that I didn’t even know were available. The dentist was very knowledgeable and relaxed and telling me my different choices. I was very impressed with my visit today and highly recommend smile Carolina to anyone seeking a first class operation
The only place l would trust with my teeth. The staff and Dr. Johnson are all very professional. I have gone to this practice since it opened and have always felt confident in the quality of their work.
I love how friendly all the staff is there. I usually get so nervous going to the dentist but everyone makes me feel comfortable and explains everything to me.
Undoubtedly the best dental-related experience I have ever had. From the first day I visited this office I’ve felt as though I’ve been cared for and treated like family. Nevertheless, my teeth have been in perfect condition since visiting here for the past 30+ years. I have always received the best care at Smile Carolina Dental Group. Everyone is always professional and personable. They use the latest equipment, technology, and techniques. They provide recommendations without any pressure. That’s really important to me. I’m always happy to see and catch up with the team when I come in. I definitely recommend Smile Carolina Group for all your dental needs.
Common Questions About Dental Veneers
Do dental veneers hurt? +–
Our dedicated team will make sure that your veneers treatment is completely comfortable. We may need to remove a small amount of tooth enamel to place your veneers, but this process will not cause you any pain. We can also use a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort.
Do dental veneers look fake? +–
Dental veneers from an experienced cosmetic dentist will be made to blend in perfectly with your natural smile. Because they are custom-made just for you, these dental restorations fit perfectly, too. They’re made of thin porcelain that replicates the translucence of real tooth enamel. Yet they’re tough enough to protect the teeth behind them, so any concealed damage doesn’t worsen as the years go by.
Can you whiten dental veneers? +–
Teeth whitening will not work on dental veneers. For this reason, we encourage you to first whiten your teeth to the desired level of whiteness. Then we can match your teeth veneers to your radiant new smile. You can keep your teeth bright and attractive with periodic whitening treatments in our office or at home.
