So sleep is critical to everything that you do, to the way that your brain functions, to the way that your body functions. We spoke a little bit earlier about the technology that we have at the practice. We have the top end, the very best technology, bar none.
We don’t spare any expense on technology in the practice because we want the best for our patients. The machine that we talked about, the CVCT, that takes a nine second scan, scans an 18 by 15 image. So I can get the whole neck in the image and I can see the airway.
And I can actually use a tool in there to measure the airway. We can look at constrictions. We can look at where your tongue sits in your mouth.
We can look at your poor eye to see if there’s enough space in your mouth for your tongue. If there’s no space in the bottom before your mouth for your tongue, when you lay down at night, your tongue goes straight back to your throat. It makes everything even tighter.
There’s a lot of ways that we can screen with the tools that we have to tell if you’ve got sleep apnea. And there’s a lot of devices on the market, if it’s mild, that we can actually treat with an oral device and help you sleep better and help you breathe better at night.
