Sports mouth guards, you know, they keep people from getting concussions. Obviously, you get a concussion, you’re twice as likely to get another one. It’s very important if you’re playing high impact sports to have a mouth guard that’s made properly, it’s made for you, rather than something you just grab out of a bag, you boil it, you bite it.
That doesn’t work. And then as far as a night guard or a brux guard goes, I see a ton of benefit in that. I actually recommend that to everyone.
I wear one myself. My wife wears one. Everybody here has one.
There’s a lot of benefits to that. Not only does it help you not wear down the natural teeth that you have, that you can never grow back, also helps the jaw, TMJ, the joint here. When we clench and we grind our teeth, we put a lot of pressure on this joint and there’s a disc that we compress.
It can’t get the nutrients it needs. So for long term jaw health, it’s very beneficial as well. We treat people with headaches, migraines.
Another thing we do for that is Botox. The combination of those is incredible and I’ve seen it work in numerous patients and change their lives.
