For me, the most rewarding part is having patients really appreciate a change in their smile. If you’ve got a beautiful smile, you don’t realize that people who don’t have a beautiful smile are very self-conscious, and it can oftentimes lead to a lack of confidence in social interactions, or in working, or trying to get a job interview, dating. These are all things that are very important to people, that they have an attractive smile, and when I can help a patient to have that beautiful smile, it’s just really gratifying when you can see the change in their confidence levels, and they come back and they tell me, like, people tell me I have a beautiful smile, and it’s like, and it just makes them feel so good.
So that’s great to know that I’ve been able to help them, that I have a skill set or a talent that can help other people.
Dr. Virginia Gregory
Dr. Virginia Gregory has provided outstanding dentistry and patient care in the Charleston area for over three decades. Her commitment to excellence and ongoing education comes from her belief that patients deserve nothing short of the best. In 2002, she realized her vision by establishing our leading-edge dental practice in Mount Pleasant.
Dr. Gregory has a diverse educational background. She began her journey in dental health at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. She then pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1985. Dr. Gregory also holds a Master of Science in speech pathology, adding depth to her understanding of oral health and function.
Furthering her expertise, Dr. Gregory has completed extensive advanced training at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Her dedication and skill have earned her the distinction of being an LVI preferred dentist, a status achieved by only a select few in the state.
Dr. Gregory’s professional affiliations reflect her commitment to staying at the forefront of her field. She is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the South Carolina Dental Association. Additionally, she has been awarded a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, a recognition that required hundreds of hours of continuing education and the passing of rigorous examinations.
Dr. Gregory is married and has an adult daughter. She lives on the Isle of Palms with her husband and their labradoodle, Baxter. When not focused on her patients’ smiles, Dr. Gregory enjoys pursuing her own passions, which include painting, shopping, and exploring new destinations through travel.
